About

Biography

Steve Irwin was best known as “The Crocodile Man”.  He was a naturalist and conservationist from Australia who worked tirelessly to save the crocodile, and who achieved huge fame through his series “The Crocoldile Hunter”.  He appeared unconquerable and fearless in his documentaries that he co-hosted with his wife Teri.  He and his wife co-owned the Australia Zoo which was founded by Irwin’s parents.

He appeared in his television series regularly with his wife, and also appeared in a feature film The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course.  He appeared regularly as a guest on television, and did voice work in the 2006 movie ‘Happy Feet”.  He established the Steve Irwin Conservation Foundation (later renamed to Wildlife Warriors Worldwide).

He died in a freak diving accident while filming a new documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.  Irwin swam too close to a Bull Ray and the barb of the animal went up and into his chest piercing his heart.  He died  almost immediately.

He introduced me to the wonderful animal world when i was a child and he himself was a very interesting and brave human being. i cried a whole night after i saw the news and even now i still don't want to believe that.. I thought one day when i went to Australia, I could see him in his zoo..

I thank him for what he did for the wild life in the world, the rainforests he protected and the education to so many people that those animals are beautiful and we shouldn't ignore their right to live on. I still spread his ideas to people around me.

and, best regards to his family and his animal friends~
